SAAF Museum wins prestigious award

By Dean Wingrin

The Air Force Prestige Support Unit of the Year for 2010 has been awarded to the SAAF Museum, head-quartered at Zwartkop airfield near Centurion.

The aim of the SAAF annual awards competition is to give recognition to those SAAF units and personnel who have achieved the best results within a given period. The awards were announced at the annual Air Force Day Parade held on Friday 28 January 2011 at the Zwartkop airfield near Pretoria.

Although head-quartered at Zwartkop, the Museum also has satellite branches at AFB Ysterplaat and Port Elizabeth Airport. The Officer Commanding SAAF Museum, Lt Col Willie Nel, can be justifiably proud of this achievement.
