OUR UNIQUENESS:

 

The PE SAAF Museum in cooperation with the Friends of the Museum provides a range of unique aviation function and event offerings for business, clubs, schools, organizations, academies, kiddies and families.

The Museum grounds are vast and can accommodate large open air or marquee events, jumping castles, mobile swimming pools, stages etc. with more than adequate parking on and off-site.

 

OFFERINGS & FACILITIES

 

 

Play Area:

Huge grassed kiddies play area with the Kiddies Bomber. Space for marquees, tents, portable braais, jumping castles and water slides etc.

 

 

Buccaneer Flight Simulator:

One can book and use the Buccaneer Flight Simulator in its private room. This realistic flying simulator is a very unique experience for kiddies and adults. A “flight trainer” will show you how to work it and guide you through your flights – or just go it alone!

 

 

Friends Clubhouse:

The Friends Clubhouse seats 42 people Classroom Style or 40 people Dining Style. See the Floor Plans.

Customized seating/table layouts can be arranged on request.

Overhead digital projector, DVD player with speakers and TV.

Private bar with fully stocked fridges.

Custom-ordered beverages can be arranged.

Tabs can be run.

Fully functional and equipped Kitchen with sink, microwave, fridges etc.

Covered BBQ with three large buffet tables.

 

 

Museum Meeting Room:

Large meeting room which can accommodate …. People classroom style or …… people at tables Dining Style.

 

Art Gallery:

8 seater boardroom table.

 

 

Guided Tours:

Guided tours in the Museum and bellman hangar for individuals or small parties (max 20 pax per tour group)

 

Aviation Films:

A range of aviation, aircraft, military, war and SAAF films are available.

 

Talks & Presentations:

Experienced experts are available to present informative talks on world wars, the SAAF, aviation, flying, aviation art, aircraft and the various projects which have been completed or in progress at the Museum.

 

FLEXIBILITY & VERSATILITY:

 

We are flexible in our approach and accept off-site caterers or self-catering and/or can provide value-added services such as:

HOURS:

 

Functions can take place at any time on the allocated days as scheduled below and arranged in advance with the friends and/or Museum. All evenings are available.

 

Monday: Closed to the public (Open for Functions and Events only)

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: Open to the public: 08h00 – 15h00.

School excursions to the Museum: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday only.

Friday: Closed to the public (Open for Functions and Events only)

Saturday: Open to the public: 09h00 – 15h00. (Functions and event areas available)

Sunday: Open to the public: 10h00 – 16h00. (Functions and event areas available)

 

BOOKING & COSTING:

 

A pre-function booking system ensures that all your requirements are recorded and quoted on in advance.

Payment takes the form of a deposit in advance and settlement of the balance prior to the function date.

HOW TO GET THERE:

 

From La Roche Drive into Forest Hill Drive. Drive for about 4km around the north/south airport runway. Follow the signs & keep right at the right hand bend that leads to Maranatha off to the left and carry on straight into the Museum access road directly ahead.
