Hawker Hurricanes MK-IIC depicted fictitiously during an overnight stopover at 42 Air School in Port Elizabeth, South Africa during WW2. The Bellman hangers can be seen in the background. Only one Bellman now remains which forms part of the SAAF Museum in Port Elizabeth. The painting can be viewed in the SAAF Museum Art Gallery. Size: 1000 x 500mm. Price: R3333.00.

The Hurricanes at Port Elizabeth were from “B” Flight of 11 Operational Training Unit, SAAF, which had flown from St Albans since June 1944, but were transferred to the north (terminal building) side of P.E airport in February 1945. 11 OTU was disbanded on 28th July 1945 with some of its Hurricanes retuning to Waterkloof, but most being disposed of by 7 A.D. (where the Air Force Base is now) 42 A.S. never flew Hurricanes as far as I know.
